American Red Cross Disaster
Training Courses
These trainings are randomly scheduled by the Louisville Chapter of
the American Red Cross. If you are a licensed mental health provider
and want to become certified by the American Red Cross as a mental
health volunteer who may be invited to participate in disaster relief,
you must, first, take the introductory Red Cross course as a preliminary
step to the mental health training. You can do this by completing a
live or a videotaped course with its workbook. This course should be
available through your local Red Cross office. You can get dates and
other information regarding the Disaster Mental Health training from
Clifton Salas. His phone number, in Louisville, is 800.272.3635 and
his e-mail address is clifton.salas@louisville-redcross.org. Click Brochure for the Louisville Area Chapter Disaster Training Calendar and Course Descriptions.
