Thanks to the work of our lobbyist Ronny Pryor of Capitol Solutions, one cordial visit to the office of Brian J. Crall, Secretary of Kentucky’s Personnel Cabinet, and a few email exchanges, class specifications for the Social Service Worker series have been revised to specifically identify marriage and family therapy as an acceptable academic major for the entry level, working level, and advanced levels of the series.~The revisions become effective 12-16-06.~ The specific class specifications include Social Service Worker I (code 6220), Social Service Worker II (code 6221), Social Service Clinician I (code 6222), Social Service Clinician II (code 6223), and Social Service Specialist (code 6224). Now marriage and family therapists can apply for these positions under our own license, LMFT!
This is good news for our profession and for the families in Kentucky.
